Heeeeya! I wish these things had pictures, because back home, it's customary to send someone a cute picture of yourself when you are somewhere new and looking totally slamming. Which I am.

[She has to be talking of sending a portrait, and suddenly Thor is looking at the time they've spent together in a different light. In Tevinter no one would think to make such a gesture to someone bound for the magisterum, but they're not in Tevinter and she's not even of this world.

A little dalliance wouldn't hurt, though. His voice is warm when he speaks.]

It is everything I expected. I have been here many times before, and I am glad to be back. My mother will be joining us for part of the time here, as well. That will be nice. It has been several months since we left our estates and I have missed her.

How is the new place, and you are... fighting?

[Looking slamming sounds like combat. She's tiny, but also determined. He would not mind seeing her in actual combat. The thought makes him smile more; she'd be adorable taking someone down.]

Hmm—? No, not really. I meant, uh. I'm looking great. Amazing, even. That's why I wish I could send pics, like when you are having just the best hair day and everyone needs to see it. Though, like, all my hair days are good days—wait, no, shit. I messed that up.

Not a lot if fighting here, but! If there is, I’ll be ready for it. I got a brand new weapon, it's this glaive and it is cute as heck, it's all pink and sparkly.

[Pink hair is strange, but her hair does seem to stay well-styled, on reflection. He certainly could have stayed on that topic longer.]

I have known a few who fought with glaives before! They were impressive. I would like to see you with it, and the way that it matches your hair. I am certain you look...

Well, I can’t wait to show you. I’m sure I can manage to look good, as long as I don’t fuck it up. Which is still up in the air, to be honest. I doubt I’m impressive with it right now, but—that’s what practice is for, right?

[ She laughs, and makes a mental note that she really does need to practice more, if she doesn’t want to look like an idiot in front of Thor. ]

Yeah! Right now, I’m mostly just doing diplomatic stuff in some villages. Trying to get the old word of mouth going, you know? Show the little people that the Inquisition can help them, too.

I am glad you are exploring Tevinter. My lands are good ones.

[He's proud of it, and proud that some of it can be shown off to her.]

And speaking of good things, we have a practice ring in the mansion in Kirkwall.

[And practice grounds on the estate, but that seems likely to be a step too far for his father.]

You could come over and we could work together. I have servants who will bring chilled drinks and towels as well.

[ Briefly, Resa’s mind wanders to the last time she trained with Thor. Hell yes. If she could concentrate on the training, at least. ]

Goodness, I would love to. Cold drinks sound amazing. [ And so does servants waiting on her, in general. ] And now that I have my own weapon, it should be a little easier—and it’s not too unlike training with a staff, is it?

It should not be.

I would be glad to have you as a training partner.

[Perhaps it will take some time before working with her will qualify as a good training session for him, but he likes spending time with her. And even around her. And if he can show off a little, so much the better.]

Followup to Info Request

[ A man will approach Thor the next time he’s out in Hightown. He speaks with a slight accent, approximately Marnas Pell, and introduces himself as Idacius. After realizing that Thor is Inquisition, he begs him for stories of Inquisition glory, and buys a round of drinks.

At the end of the night, he may need some help returning to his inn. Upon safe deposit there, Idacius sobers up enough to explain he’s visiting from Minrathous, and recognized a description of Thor from ‘mutual friends’. He’ll ask that Thor deliver a small package to the Archon. If Thor presses for the contents he will reveal that it contains two letters from the Archon’s contacts, and a small bottle of the Archon’s favorite scent in a sealed vial.

He will also definitely attempt to mac on Thor, but only after he takes the package. He can be turned down gently. ]

Downstairs, in the garden.

Loki looks terrible.

This is not a subjective measure, but rather a plainly stated fact. He does not look terrible for Loki, but rather he looks terrible in general. Were he not wearing his clothing and standing in their yard, he would be easily mistaken for a madman who had wandered out of the gutters and into an estate.

As it is, Loki of House Asgard is standing on the overlook, staring out at the harbor. He has a heavy yew staff in one hand and a delicate porcelain trinket in the other. It is a meaningless thing, something purchased to fill the mantles of their rooms. He tosses it up and, with a brutal swing, shatters it into a fine rain of sharp flecks and expensive gold-littered dust.

His valet, at his side, offers him a tray that holds about two dozen more items of similar value and composition. He plucks another and lets out a sigh before repeating the process--this time he gets some distance on it and it tumbles out of sight and toward the streets far below their home.

Thor hears the crashing from inside, lets it carry on for a time, and eventually decides to find out the source. When he sees Loki, he doesn't know if he should have gotten up sooner or ignored it altogether. The things don't matter. They're not cheap, but they're just things.

What matters is the image, a man known as a Tevene mage having something of a breakdown in the area of Kirkwall that's most dangerous for them.

"Please leave us," Thor says to the valet as he comes up to the pair. That's enough of a display. If is brother is losing his mind, Tevinter cannot know just yet. Of course, as soon as the valet is gone they're left alone and Thor doesn't know what to do about that. He's finding his upbringing left him lacking in a great many ways when it comes to complicated situations. What he'd give for something he can zap and batter into small pieces.

"You are not well," he finally goes with.

Loki doesn't turn to face his brother until he has tossed the curio in hand into the air and then taken a wide, arcing swing at it. It smashes into a cloud of particulate that scatters over their back lawn.

"How very astute of you, brother," Loki commends in a perfect deadpan. He isn't drunk, remarkably, but as he looks at Thor and the plate of tiny breakables he has obtained, he seems like he's considering changing that.

"Or rather, Thor," he corrects and holds out a hand. "Another, if it pleases you."

We need to speak. [ A pause. ] About Tevinter.

I intend to begin my journey to reclaiming my seat.

[There is a long pause.]

For your house, for the Inquisition, both, or are there other factors?

Does it matter?

If it gives the South a permanent foothold in the North? Yes. Corypheus is the enemy of us all, but a majority of the Inquisition views Tevinter as no less of one.

I will take my seat in Tevinter back and I will use it properly. The actions of the Shimada family are disgraceful.
